Material used for exercises in notation and composition.
The Bells Music Signs And Notes is designed to teach children the positions of musical notes on the staff. By placing the notes in their correct positions, children develop an understanding of musical notation and the relationship between different notes. This material also helps improve visual discrimination and memory skills.
The set consists of a wooden box with compartments containing the following material: movable material representing treble clef and bass clef, crescendo and diminuendo, and accidentals; a set of 8 white wooden discs with the names of the notes (representing different musical notes A, B, C, D, E, F, G) on one side and the numbers 1-8 on the reverse; a set of 64 wooden discs bearing the notes of the C major scale; a set of 20 black wooden discs; a set of 15 discs for semitones. The movable materials can be placed on a staff board to practise note placement and recognition. This material is an essential tool for teaching music theory in a Montessori environment.
