The Heutink Foundation

Every child deserves a chance to shine
In 2016, Jessica Heutink starts The Heutink Foundation in response to worldwide poverty. Poverty can result in children not being able to participate in cultural activities, even though these activities can make a significant contribution to the development of talent, promoting positive self-esteem, highlighting emotional intelligence and helping to mitigate trauma.

The Heutink Foundation is committed to helping children and young people in poor, disadvantaged or uncertain situations to actively participate in activities which might otherwise be denied them – examples being a dance performance, music or an art exhibition. We do this by supporting existing worldwide projects that are in line with our vision and objectives. Our support is either financially or with relevant materials.

Heutink Foundation Projects

  • Interactive concerts

We support a project which offers musical activities for children in asylum seeker centers to make them forget about their challenges for a moment. During the interactive concerts, the children in the audience are given a voice through participation in the form of speaking, dancing and singing.

  • Education materials to Lesbos

The Foundation sponsored two fully-loaded pallets containing educational materials, a large amount of worldly instruments and face-painting sets. The pallets were sent to The Movement on the Ground Foundation to help them make the Kare Tepe camp a worthwhile, respectful and sustainable community.

  • Theatre lessons in Curaçao

The Youth Theatre school, Drazans is another charity supported by the Heutink Foundation. Our support enables 400 students from disadvantaged areas to improve their self-confidence; hone their social skills; and explore their creativity through the enchanting influence of the theatre.

  • Film festival 'Forgotten child'

In 2018 the Foundation will be the main sponsor of Film festival 'Forgotten child'. Under the guidance of professional film coaches, children from asylum centers, together with elementary school pupils from the Netherlands, will create their own films about their lives.

The Heutink Foundation belongs to all of us

Jessica Heutink: "There have been ever increasing requests to support the wonderful projects taking place worldwide. The Heutink Foundation and all of the companies which are part of the Heutink Group try to contribute to the positive development of children through group activities in the field of art and culture. We strive to create memories. Together we can reach far more." Visit the Heutink Foundation website and find out what you can do to contribute.

What else do we contribute?

  • Child Care Sri Lanka

Heutink offers financial support to create opportunities for a good education for the children of the employees of our factory in Sri Lanka, Nienhuis Asia. Every quarter, our financial contribution ensures 58 children remain in school to increase their chances of having a better life by improving/developing their talent.

  • Edukans Shoe Box Project

For the 4th consecutive year, Heutink - with the help of more than 100,000 children in the Netherlands and Belgium - makes special shoe-size boxes available to schools. These boxes are filled with school supplies, toiletries and toys for children in developing countries.
